Summer camp. But make it queer, joyful, and affirming.

A Northern Ontario camp where you can just be yourself.

Rainbow Camp® is a sleep-away camp for 2SLGBTQ+ and allied youth ages 12–17. It’s a place to make friends, laugh hard, try new things, and explore who you are in a space built just for you.

Our programs

Three ways to experience Rainbow Camp®.

All three programs are built around the same core idea: a safe, affirming camp community for 2SLGBTQ+ and allied youth — with extra leadership or adventure options if you want them.

Core Program
Rainbow Camp®
Ages 12–17 • Overnight
The classic Rainbow Camp® week: education & activism, artistic endeavours, and active outdoors. Think campfires, waterfront, big group games, creative workshops, and space to find “your people”.

Leadership
Rainbow LEAD
Ages 15–17 • Leadership program
A leadership program for older youth who want more responsibility. LEADers practice supporting younger campers, co-leading activities, and building skills for school, work, and community organizing.

Adventure
Rainbow Quest
Ages 13–17 • Canoe trip
A camp + canoe trip combo. Start at main camp, then head out for a multi-day backcountry trip — sleeping in tents, paddling, cooking outside, and learning backcountry skills in a 2SLGBTQ+ affirming group.

Why it matters

Camp can change how a young person sees themselves.

For many campers, Rainbow Camp® is the first time they’ve been surrounded by peers who “get it” — where names and pronouns are respected, identities are celebrated, and being 2SLGBTQ+ is simply normal.

  • A space to try out language, style, and self-expression.
  • Role models who are queer, trans, and allied adults.
  • Workshops on activism, identity, and mental health.
  • Support for rural and Northern youth who may feel isolated at home.

We hear again and again that camp helps youth feel less alone, more confident, and more hopeful about their future.

How it works

Getting to camp, step-by-step.

We know it can feel like a big leap to sign up. Here’s the short version of how the process works for campers and their families.

Step 1
Pick your program & week.
Check out Camp Sessions to see which weeks are for Rainbow Camp®, Rainbow LEAD, and Rainbow Quest, and which ages they’re for. Decide what feels right for you.
Step 2
Register & choose your payment tier.
Register online, choose your payment tier, and tell us about any access needs. Payment plans, camperships, and travel bursaries are available for those who need them.
Step 3
Get ready, pack, and travel.
We’ll send packing lists, travel options (bus, drive, or fly), and pre-camp info. Then it’s time to head to camp and meet your cabin.
Be the reason a young person finds their place.

Whether you’re registering as a camper, sharing this with a teen in your life, or making a donation to help send someone else, you’re part of making Rainbow Camp® possible.
